Reading time: 4 minutes

Introduction

Every year, the festival market explodes with an overwhelming demand for tickets to the most popular music festivals. From harderstyles music festivals to pop concerts, tickets often fly out the door within minutes. The sudden sale can be a disappointment for many, but don't worry! In this blog, we will guide you from the moment of sale to the last weeks before the festival with useful tips and strategies to still get those coveted festival tickets.

Summary

In this comprehensive guide from RaveFit, you’ll learn how to get festival tickets despite sold-out events, from the initial sell-out to the final moments before the festival. We’ll cover the dynamics of queues and official waiting lists, which can help you snag tickets after the initial sell-out. We’ll also introduce you to several trusted second-hand ticket platforms, such as TicketSwap, TicketTack, Ticketbeurs, viagogo and Ticketmaster, evaluating the security, cost and usability of each platform. We’ll also emphasise the importance of using your personal network and technology tools such as notification systems to increase your chances of getting tickets. With these strategies and tips, you’ll increase your chances of attending your favourite festivals after all.

1 Immediately after the sale

Every year we see that tickets for popular festivals like Supremacy or Pinkpop sell out in record time. What many don't know is that not all hope is lost after the initial sell-out.

1.1 The Role of Queues

Queues aren’t just frustrating, they’re also an opportunity. Many festivals use dynamic queues where tickets left in carts but not purchased are released, so be patient and keep refreshing the page.

1.2 Register Official Waiting Lists

Register directly for official waiting lists via the festival website. These are often your best chance to score a ticket when someone cancels their ticket.

1.3 Stay Connected

Stay active on the festival's social media channels and subscribe to newsletters to be notified immediately of new ticket availability.

1.4 Research Moment Release Tickets

Research when festival tickets are released to buyers so you can be on time for the start of second-hand ticket sales.

2.1 Reliable Platforms for Second Hand Maps

If you’re looking to buy second-hand tickets, there are several trusted platforms to consider. Each platform has its own benefits and security features to ensure your transaction is as safe and fair as possible:

  • TicketSwap: Known for its security, TicketSwap implements a system called Secure Swap. This ensures that when a ticket is sold, the original ticket is invalidated and the buyer receives a new, unique ticket. This minimizes the risk of fraud and duplicate tickets.
  • TicketTack: This platform requires sellers to log in via Facebook, which adds an extra layer of transparency and security. Sellers’ identities are verifiable, which makes buyers feel more secure. Tickets are checked for authenticity before they are allowed on the platform.
  • Ticketbeurs: This platform offers a money-back guarantee in case a ticket turns out to be invalid. This is a reassuring feature for buyers who are concerned about the possibility of receiving an invalid ticket.
  • viagogo: Although viagogo offers a guarantee that tickets are valid, there are mixed reviews about the platform. It is known to sometimes have high fees associated with transactions. It is important to consider the total cost before making a purchase.
  • Ticketmaster: Known for its Verified Fan program, which ensures the integrity of ticket sales by verifying buyers. This helps keep bots and scalpers out. Ticketmaster also handles the transfer of tickets directly from seller to buyer, adding an extra layer of security.

2.2 Safety and Costs

It is crucial to check the security of each platform and keep an eye on the associated costs. Platforms such as TicketSwap and Ticketbeurs are often the most affordable options and offer strong protection against fraud due to their advanced security measures.

2.3 Experiences of Others

Reading reviews and experiences from other users can provide valuable insights into a platform's reliability and customer service. This feedback can help you make an informed choice about where to buy your tickets.

2.4 Technological Aids

Take advantage of technology tools like TicketSwap’s notification systems, which will alert you as soon as tickets become available. Setting up these notifications can give you an edge in the often fast-paced world of ticketing, especially as popular events approach. Start your search early and stay active to have the best chance of securing tickets.

3.1 Using Networks

In the run-up to the festival, your personal network can be a goldmine for last-minute tickets. Let friends, family and colleagues know that you are looking for a ticket. Often, people in your area may have an extra ticket or know someone who has changed their plans. A quick post on social media or a message in relevant groups can also do wonders.

3.2 Last Chances

Stay alert for ticket opportunities until the last days before the festival. Many festival-goers cancel their tickets last-minute due to unforeseen circumstances. Be active on ticket platforms such as TicketSwap and regularly check official festival websites for any additional released tickets.

3.3 Notifications and Alerts

Enable notifications on apps like TicketSwap to receive real-time updates when tickets become available. These apps are crucial in the final weeks when ticket sales can fluctuate rapidly. By setting up alerts, you can react immediately and significantly increase your chances of securing a ticket.

Joop

Ik ben vorige week opgelicht via TicketSwap.. Gelukkig krijg je gewoon je geld terug als je: A een screenshot maakt van het ongeldige kaartje en B een foto maakt van dat het kaartje niet geldig is.
