RaveFit, Reading time: 4 minutesShare
September 16, 2024 – At RaveFit, we are always looking for passionate individuals who share our vision of fitness, festivals, and a healthy lifestyle. That’s why we are thrilled to welcome Tobias Rosendaal as our new ambassador. Tobias combines his love for strength training and festivals in a unique way. In this interview, he tells us more about his background and why he chose to collaborate with RaveFit.
Who are you and where are you from? Can you briefly introduce yourself?
"My name is Tobias Rosendaal, I am 24 years old and I come from the Achterhoek. I started judo when I was 4 years old, and I have always continued to do this. Until I was 18, I did judo at a high level, but then I stopped competing to go to work. Around the age of 19, I started fitness, although I knew little about it at the time. Still, I enjoyed discovering a new sport. Over the years, I have learned a lot, including through my sports education, where I achieved fitness A and almost B. In the meantime, I have also picked up powerlifting, a sport in which I have already participated in three competitions."
How did you get into the fitness and festival niche? Can you give us a timeline?
"When I was 19, I started doing fitness seriously. My background in judo made me muscular and lean, but through focused training and paying attention to my diet, I discovered bulking and gained 10 kilos. I learned a lot by watching videos and training with friends. I also deepened my knowledge during my sports education. As for festivals: when I turned 18, I went to Defqon.1 for the first time, and since then I have been to more festivals every year. The combination of fitness and festivals has become very natural to me."
What does the combination of fitness and festivals mean to you personally?
"I've been a hardstyle fan since I was 16, but I wasn't allowed to go to festivals back then because they were usually for 18 and older. As soon as I turned 18, I went to my first festival, which was Defqon.1. That was an amazing experience. Through festivals, I also made a lot of new friends, people I now go to festivals with every week. Festivals and fitness go hand in hand for me: fitness keeps me physically in shape, while festivals give me the mental relaxation I need."
What are some of your biggest achievements or highlights to date?
"In judo I won the title of East Netherlands champion several times, which brought me to the National Championships. There I came fifth in the Netherlands twice. I have also competed internationally, including in Belgium, Germany, and Denmark. In powerlifting I am proud of my personal records: a squat of 210 kilos, a bench press of 145 kilos, and a deadlift of 245 kilos."
What inspires you in your work and daily life and how do you stay motivated?
"What motivates me is setting clear goals. Without a goal, I lack the motivation to train consistently. That's why I often compete, so I have something to work towards. In my daily life, I coach people in the gym to achieve their health and fitness goals. I also work as a mechanic in a factory to earn extra income, but my passion remains sports."
What attracted you to RaveFit and how do your personal values align with ours?
"What I like about RaveFit is that their philosophy perfectly matches my own beliefs. I love festivals and sports, and I believe in 100% focus when I go for something. For example, I set specific goals for certain periods, such as eight hours of sleep per night, paying close attention to nutrition, training hard, no alcohol, and sometimes even ice baths in the winter. That helps me perform better and recover faster. This dedication and focus on balance fit perfectly with what RaveFit represents."
Do you have any specific plans or projects you're working on and what can your followers and our community expect from you in the coming months?
"I recently started judo again and have two team tournaments scheduled for September 22 and October 10. These are important competitions and if we perform well, we can even advance to the National Team Championships. I also hope to participate in the National Senior Championships in the future. As for powerlifting, I have my next competition scheduled for November 30 or December 1, where I hope to reach a total of 600 kilos or more."
Do you have a message for the RaveFit followers and your own fans?
"Make sure you have a consistent training schedule and train each muscle group at least twice a week to grow. Also, don't forget to get enough sleep and protein for optimal recovery. Keep challenging yourself, but most of all, don't forget to enjoy the process!
